This 2017-’18 school year was filled with bright spots for the Plano East boys and girls athletic programs.

Below is a breakdown of how each team fared, starting with the fall sports, winter and wrapping up with the spring.

Football

Amid a slew of injuries Panthers finished this past season 3-7 overall and tied at 3-7 in District 6-6A with Wylie.

Allen went a perfect 7-0 to claim the district title, seventh overall, and ended up as the Class 6A Div. I state champions.

Volleyball

The Lady Panthers missed out on the postseason after going 6-8 in district and 18-16 overall. Making the cut were Plano West, Allen, Plano and Denton Guyer.

Cross Country

Devin Valejo competed in the 6A state meet in Round Rock after placing 16th in the regional meet.

Prior to regionals the Panther took fourth in the district meet.

Martha Brown just missed the state cut after claiming 19th in regionals. She claimed first in district and helped the Lady Panthers to a team title in the same meet in Denton.
